River Crossing Playback Theatre performs at organizations, schools and community venues, bringing audience interaction and stories into a new light.
Let’s Watch! In Spring 2015, the ensemble hosts We Belong, a creative community conversation on Second Saturdays in York, Pennsylvania sponsored in part by the PA Council on the Arts. Opening with a diverse set of poetry and spoken word by Poetic Voices at 7 pm, the performance unfolds thereafter with audience stories becoming theatrical magic, concluding with an audience reflection and response time. $7 suggested donation at the door. Each event comes to life in a different venue including York’s Central Market House (April 11), the Unitarian Universalist Church of York (May 9) and the YWCA (June 13) .
Imagine your organization or your community telling their own heartfelt stories within an hour of gathering – and listening intently to each other. And one by one, those stories come to life on stage!
That’s Playback Theatre, an interactive form that creates a beautiful community dialogue developed in 1975 in New York. And it could be your community, your group, your company, your place of worship.
